After the much-needed rain of the past few weeks, the untouched natural landscape that surrounds our North-Course is now bursting with the colours of the beautiful natural plants that border the fairways. This stunning burst of colour and growth also sets the tone for our turfgrass to start actively growing after the cooler winter temperatures.
Maintaining the quality of our greens is a daily challenge. During this season, it is essential to provide the grass with the ability to produce new roots that will allow for good hydric performance during the heat of upcoming summer months. To achieve this, we use a variety of methods to aerate the greens in the least disruptive ways possible. This includes: solid-tinning, air injection, light verticuts and light hollow-coring. Finding the right approach depends on how the greens respond and minimising disruption to our players.
The tee renovation programme initiated last year will be concluded soon, with the full renovation of the tee boxes. This will result in firmer tees with adjusted sizes and sharper definition.
The above operations along with regular maintenance will continue to be performed on a daily basis, with the goal of constantly improving the course quality, in order to present our members and guests with the best possible conditions on any given day.
